SPINE SURGERY SIMULATION MODELS

Real Tissue Specimen

ENDOSIM has developed a realistic spine surgery simulation model with lifelike realism. The simulator is designed to simulate both supine and lateral approach to the lumbar spine. This advanced simulator from ENDOSIM provides an authentic surgical environment, allowing surgeons to practice their skills with accuracy and precision.

The simulator is compatible with standard X-Ray and CT scans to visualize implant positioning with clinically precise clarity and accuracy.

Advantages of Ex-vivo Porcine Simulation Models in comparison to Cadavers:

  1. High-Fidelity Simulation: We re-create human anatomy using synthetic materials and ex-vivo muscle tissue resulting in a realistic surgical experience for testing and training.

  2. Simplified Setup and Cleanup: Porcine models are far easier to manage logistically—less setup time, less mess, and quicker turnover between sessions.

  3. Lower Regulatory Burden: Unlike cadavers, porcine models are subject to fewer regulatory constraints, which speeds up coordination and execution.

  4. Cost-Effective: Porcine model are considerably more affordable and scalable.

  5. Consistent Access: Cadaver availability can be unpredictable and limited. Porcine models are easier to source on demand, reducing delays.

  6. Custom Pathology Options: We can create custom-made pathologies based on your procedural needs for.

  7. Lower Biohazard Risk: There’s less risk of exposure to human-specific pathogens, making the working environment safer and simpler to manage.

Lumbar Spine Model

Our lumbar spine model is a hybrid model consisting of realistic vetrebraes from ileum to T12. The spinal column includes dura with CSF, spinal cord and nerve roots, and ligamentum flavum. The muscle tissue is real ex-vivo porcine tissue with porcine skin in the surgical site surrounded by silicone skin.
